Red Cube VR Review: Fight Your Inner Demons

RedCube VR is a virtual reality game aimed to help you explore your consciousness. You are welcome to explore the deepest corners of your mind and face your greatest fears. The game has a bunch of weapons that can be used against enemies (pistols, machine guns, swords, and a freezer). Download Redcube VR and immerse yourself into the game mysterious world using your virtual reality headset: HTC Vive or Oculus Rift.

Gameplay 4/5

The environment of the game is futuristic and a bit escapist. When you enter the game room, there is a statue which may remind you of Buddha. It declares then that what you see is the clear reflexion of your conscious identity, and that you can percept only what your mind is ready to comprehend. Thus, the intro claims that RedCube VR gameplay is, for the most part, a creation of your mind.

With a gun or a sword in your arms, you are going to fight against enemies. The game has different types of weapons that you may use. The location and purpose of use are the main aspects of your weapon choice. Laser — to burn opponents, freezer — to spray liquid nitrogen in order to freeze enemies, a gravity gun — to manipulate physical objects and attack with their help. Each level has its own set of guns and bonuses.

Graphics and Audio Effects 4.5/5

In the Red Cube Vr latest version, there are optimized texture resolutions — both serve better quality and performance. It gives such a fantastic and unique experience. The combination of high-quality graphics paired with the mysterious music really puts Red Cube on another level.

Immersion 4.5/5

It may be harder than you thought when you launched it for the first time. The game is essentially about fast decision-making. It puts these tasks on speed. What might be a very simple decision if you have all the time in the world becomes much more attractive and complex when you have to do it in a split second.

This intense concentration coupled with the VR experience is a perfect recipe for an unstoppable action.

Controls 5/5

For this game a special controller model is available, which looks similar to original HTC Vive controllers, but has its unique style. All the aspects of the in-game menu are firmly tied to your controller. You can navigate by swiping your finger in circular direction and running levels by pressing a trigger button on the controller.

In-game purchases 5/5

There are no in-game purchases yet, but it may change in the future. The game goes for a full price and it will remain the same, apart from occasional discounts and promotions, — that’s what developers say.

To sum up

With the guidance of your consciousness mentors, go inside the fantastic, virtual world fueled by your own imagination, and battle your inner dragons. Make a step out of the RedCube. Developed by  Egidijus Bachur, Bartosh Polonski, and Urte Milda Sirvinskaite, Red Cube VR offers amazing gameplay and original design.
